Our Solar Roof Hot Water System was installed on 28th February 2007.
The plot below shows typical data over two "Solar days". Of key importance is that on "Solar
days" the temperature of the Hot Water the day after is still above the 120F "heat to"
temperature for domestic hot water as recommended by Energy Star
Home Saving Tips.
Actual data from our morning, noon and afternoon data
collection demonstrates that on more than 80% of days our water temperture does not drop as
low as 120F on the morning after a "Solar day".
NOTE: A "Solar day" is a term we are using for when the temperature of the water when heated only
by the sun is warmer at the end of the day (the afternoon reading) than the temperature at the
start of the day (the morning reading).
