Our Solar Roof Hot Water System was installed on 28th February 2007.
The plot below is a schematic of the "Solar Hot Water" heating.
We see postive temperature rises (solar heating) between 10am and 4pm each day that is not overcast
Peak Solar Hot Water Heating occurs between 12:00 noon and 2:00pm
Typical peak values are in the region of 170F
Between 6pm and 9am the following morning the hot water cools. However, typically the temperature at 9am the following morning is well above the EPA recommended "heat to" temperature of 120F
Peak cooling loses are about 2F per hour through the night
The average lowest water temperature is typically recorded about 9am each day
